How to Install Trailer Wiring Harness On a 2006 Acura TL

I purchased a hitch and Modulite C59496 for my 2006 Acura TL. The hitch install was easy. I need help with electrical since I do not know Acura tail light wire colors. Can you help.

Because the vehicle manufacturers aren't always consistent when it comes to the wiring color codes, we don't have any information as to which taillight wiring harness wire color serves which function on your 2006 Acura TL.

Luckily, the # C59496 harness you purchased includes a circuit tester to help you identify which wire feeds each individual taillight function.

You'll need to access the wiring harnesses feeding the taillights by pulling back the trunk liner behind each taillight assembly. While a helper activates each taillight function, use the tester to check each of the wires. The # C59496 would wire up as follows:

• White wire with ring terminal grounds to vehicle
• Green wire taps into right turn signal circuit
• Yellow wire taps into left turn signal circuit
• Brown wire taps into running lamp circuit
• Red wire taps into brake lamp circuit
• Black wire is routed under vehicle to connect to positive battery terminal via included fuse holder
