Comparing Factory Integrated Brake Controller of 2005 Ford F-250 to Prodigy P3

I was going to buy the stock brake controller for my xlt and install it but was recommended the prodigy 3? What do you think is better?

The Prodigy P3 part # 90195 is for sure the better option than the factory brake controller of your 2005 Ford F-250. This brake controller senses the amount of braking your tow vehicle is applying and puts a proportional amount of braking on the trailer's brakes. It also has a display that uses full words instead of codes that would have to be deciphered.

The factory Ford controller will cost more to buy and install and uses a much more primitive design. It puts a preset amount of braking power on the trailer brakes that ramps up at a user-selected speed everytime you press the brake pedal. This isn't ideal because rarely do you apply the brakes the same way twice when slowing down. To install the controller all you need is the part # 3065-P and you'd be set.
