Troubleshooting Trailer Brake Blinkers that Both Blink At the Same Time
Question:
after hooking every thing up all works except when i turn on either of the signal lights they both start flashing just like the flasherwhen you turn them on in the vehicle

It sounds like you have the left turn/brake light circuit and the right turn/ brake light circuit wires touching each other so that when you put on either blinker it send current to both sides of your trailer wiring.
I would recommend you inspect the wiring of your Pollak 7-Way # PK12703 and check to see if there is any exposed wires that are touching each other that could be causing the problem you are experiencing.
A lot of times when there is a bad ground you will see bizarre tail light functions, it would be a good idea for you to check the grounds of the lights to see if you can find corrosion, loose or exposed wire and fix as necessary.
