Recommended Snow Chains for 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with 245/65r17 Tires
Question:
Your article on regarding your suggestion for chains on the trailhawk model had the incorrect tire size for that model vehicle. Your article had the tire size for the regular Cherokee. The tire size for the trailhawk is different. 245/65/17 The owners manual suggests not using chains due to the lack of clearance between tire and suspension ?? But I live where it ices over in winter. So snow tires arent enough. Is there a chain that will fit the 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk that wont cause damage to the suspension parts?

For your 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with 245/65r17 tires, I recommend using the Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - XG12 Pro - Size 250 # TH01594250 which require 12mm internal clearance between the sidewall and the vehicle itself. A more cost efficient alternative to these chains is the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link - 1 Pair # TC2317 which require 15 mm internal clearance. I recommend measuring your clearances so you can make an educated decision. I've linked a couple videos of these options to help.
The manufacturers often are now recommending not to use snow chains as they reduce clearances as a way of limiting liability if something should happen. There are definitely times where laws and common sense warrant using chains anyway to remain safe.
Both of these recommendations have proven to work well for clearances like you have on your 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk.
