Regulator for 100 lb Tank and Fireplace

Question:

I have a 100 lb tank with a 60’ run to fireplace. Pilot light not staying lit very long on a full tank so believe reg to be problem. I think long run could be part of issue as well. It has worked for 10 years but recently started being a prolblem. Can you recommend a regulator for me? Thanks

The Camco Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59333 should do well for you and is rated for 160,000 Btu per hour. It has a 1/4" NPT inlet and 3/8" NPT outlet and is a horizontal mount and its two stages allow for a consistent gas flow. This is for an ASME tank; the MB Sturgis 2-Stage Regulator # 108220 will be what you want if you have a DOT tank.

I have added links to video reviews of both regulators for you to take a look at.
