Does the Upgraded Heavy Duty ModuLite # 119190KIT Require Programming on a 2013 BMW X5
Question:
I need to wire harness for the trailer for BMW X5 2013. Looking at part #119250KIT by Tekonsha. After I wire it, do I need any programming at the dealer?inch Also, buying DrawTite class III hitch. Info seems a bit confusing - do I need to buy separate rivets at the dealer or do the supplied ones work? Thank you.

The Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 119250KIT which is a fit for your 2013 BMW X5 will not require any expensive programing from the dealer in order to function properly. Once you connect to the correct wires all you will need to do is run the power/ground wire and you are good to go which you can see from the attached install video.
In regard to the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75600, the plastic push rivets that are included will only work on models up to 2010. since you have a 2013 you will need to obtain new push rivets from the dealer but they should be relatively inexpensive. I have also attached a review video of this hitch for you as well.

I purchased this harness for my 2014 BMW X1 along with a Draw-tite Trailer Hitch. I paid the local BMW dealer to install them both. For the first trip the electrical connections worked perfectly. On our second long trip, we noticed that the left lights on our trailer were constantly 'ON' and the left turn signal did not work. When we turn the vehicle entirely off, the left taillights are still on as they appear to be drawing power. Has the 'module' gone bad on its second trip?
