The Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP30074 is a fit for a 2008 Ram 2500 with a 6-1/2 foot bed. This underbed system has an 18,000 lb max capacity.

It will work with the Curt A series and Q series 5th wheel hitches. I recommend the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch head # C16540 along with the # C16020 or the Curt Q20 # C16530-16020. Both these hitches will fit the Elite Series puck locations and will still allow you to tow the 18,000 lbs of the underbed rail system. I personally like the A20 over the Q20 because of the jaw design for more direct king pin contact.

If you will be using a Sidewinder or other rotating pin box, then I recommend the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30921.

For the best sliding hitch option compatible with the pucks mentioned, I recommend the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Ford Super Duty Prep Package - 18K # DM8550024. This hitch will automatically slide to give you the turning clearance you need without needing to leave your truck cab.

Finally, you may want to consider adding a second 7-way to the bed of your truck using # HM42137 for easy access. This will connect to your factory wiring and give you both the factory 7-way at your bumper and the 5th wheel or gooseneck connection in the bed of your truck.
