Recommended Flat Towing System for 2017 Chevy Sonic Behind MB Sprinter Motorhome

Question:

I’m looking for a recommendation to tow a 2017 Sonic behind a new MB Sprinter 24’ Sunseeker. We don’t need the ultimate in performance and price but just enough for moderate duty reliable road towing and convenience enough for 77 year old campers. Thanks

For your 2017 Chevy Sonic, I recommend starting with the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523192-5 for a sedan or # RM-523194-5 for a hatchback.

Then I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000 lbs # RM-520 along with the safety cables # RM-643.

Then for the vehicle wiring I recommend the Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - LED Bulb and Socket - Red # RM-152-LED which I recommend connecting to your motorhome with the RoadMaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Kit # RM-146-7. You will also want the Roadmaster Fuse Bypass # RM76511 so you don't need to pull fuses to tow and can simply flip the switch. I also always recommend the battery charge line kit # RM-156-25 to maintain your vehicle battery when towing.

For your supplemental braking system I recommend the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700 which will give you a very simple plug and play system once installed. This will require the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit - Chevrolet Sonic # RM-751457 for correct communication.

Finally you will need a high-low adapter. I've attached an article to help you determine the correct fit based on measurements and have linked the page to your options to assist. I know that is a lot of info, so let me know if you have questions.
