Does Computer of 2015 Chrysler Town and Country need to be Flashed to Install Trailer Wiring
Question:
Hi. I have a 2015 Town and Country. I had UHaul put on an aftermarket wiring connector CQT118534 4-Flat with Factory Style Battery-powered Taillight Harness Converter. They could not get the running lights to work and said I needed to take the vehicle to the dealership and have them flash the computer. I guess my question is does this converter/connector even run off the vehicle computer? If so, if the brake/turn signals work, would flashing the computer really help? Seems like there is something else going on. Thank you.

Long story short...they were tired of dealing with your problem and either willfully lied to you or did so out of ignorance. They should know based on how the trailer wiring installs that it has nothing to do with the factory computer of the vehicle. That will not fix you problem. This installs by plugging inline with your taillight connectors and interprets the signals that are running to your taillights.
Try checking to see if the taillights of your vehicle light up when you put on the headlights of your vehicle. Most likely you have a blown taillight fuse on your vehicle. Other possibilities is that the connectors are not seated properly or the harness itself just is bad and needs to be replaced.
