No Trailer Connected Error on Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller

Question:

I have a 2003 ram 2500 pulling a fr wildcat max. the problem is the trailer brakes apply with foot brake and with hand lever on the P3 controller. however the P3 screen shows no trailer connected. is this possible? in my case yes. any ideas?

If you are getting a no trailer connected warning on your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 you may have a corroded or dirty connector which is hampering the connection. Check the vehicle and trailer plug to see if there is any type of corrosion or dirt built up that may be hampering its functionality and clean if necessary.

A bad ground somewhere is also a possibility so you'll need to thoroughly check your grounds to see if they are secure and make sure the ground wires are attached to bare metal surfaces and free of any paint, dirt or corrosion.
