How to Install a 7-Way Wiring Harness and Brake Controller on a 2008 Land Rover Range Rover HSE
Question:
I need a wiring harness with a 7-way flat pin connector for my trailer, and am having trouble locating one. Doesnt anyone make it? Id like to avoid putting a 4-pin connector on and then having to install an adaptor. However, if that is the only way to go, what do you recommend for that application?

I have everything that you will need to install a 7-way trailer connector on your 2008 Land Rover Range Rover HSE but they do not make any direct plug and play kits if that is what you are looking for and you will need to use an adapter. For starters, you will first need to hardwire a 4-way trailer connector into your tail lights and for this I recommend using the Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit part # C59496. Once this is installed you will then need to use a 4 to 7-way adapter like the 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Adapter part # ETBC7 which also contains the necessary components needed to install a brake controller like the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180. If you were to use the Curt Echo then all you would need to do when installing the 4 to 7-way adapter is plug the 4-way's into each other, ground the white wire, and then run the 12 volt hot lead to the battery.
