The ball mount (or stinger) is measured from the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball or the center of the hitch ball hole if there is not an integrated hitch ball. I've attached a video of the Brophy Ball Mount - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 13-1/4" Long - 10,000 lbs # BM20 which shows the measurement of the ball mount for length.

You also want to make sure you have the correct rise or drop to allow you to tow level. I've attached both a link to all your long shank ball mount options as well as an article to assist with rise or drop needed. The longest ball mount we carry is the # BM20 already referenced.

If you need another option, we have hitch extenders like # C45795 that can be used. The biggest difference between a long shank ball mount and using a hitch extender is the capacity restrictions for both towing and a reduction of 50% of the tongue weight rating of your trailer hitch receiver. I've linked the page to those options for you as well.
