Recommended Thule Bike Rack and Trailer Hitch for 2015 Subaru WRX
Question:
I have a 2015 Subaru WRX. I am installing an eco hitch invisi. I was looking at the 1UP double bike rack and it mentions needing at least 2inch from the pin to the end of the hitch so the ball can be inserted 2. I want to confirm if that is the distance or if it is shorter. Even Thule requires 1.5inch and I saw two online references, one saying it was 1inch and another saying 2.25inch but they werent from an official site/dealer.

I went out to our warehouse to take a look at the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7257 that you referenced and I measured a distance of only around 1-1/8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the receiver. With this in mind the 1UP rack you are looking at, along with Thule bike racks (which do all require at least 1-1/2 inches for this measurement), will not be a good option with this particular hitch.
Because of the limitations on this hitch I actually recommend going with the Draw-Tite Sportframe 1-1/4 Inch Receiver # 24968 instead. This won't work with the 1UP because that rack is only compatible with 2 inch receivers but there are many excellent Thule racks that will work great with this size. The Draw-Tite hitch does feature the needed hitch pin hole to receiver dimension.
The Thule Doubletrack # TH92BJ is a great platform-style rack that will work really well on your Subaru. It features cushioned ratcheting arms on the center arms for easy loading, sliding reinforced wheel trays that allow it to accept many different bike lengths, and integrated locks to help secure your investments. This rack will work with both 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch receivers.
