Curt Trailer Hitch that Fits 2018 Ford F-150 with Factory Hitch

Question:

lets try this again. I dont want a second hitch, I want to remove my factory class 3 hitch and replace it with a class 4 hitch. Is this hitch a bolt on replacement for my current hitch?

Curt has a hitch that does fit your 2018 Ford F-150 with a factory hitch with the part # C26HR which fits below the factory hitch, but the part # C14017 does not fit versions of your truck that do have the factory hitch.

Curt 2-inch Class IV hitch # C26HR is intended for the F-150 without the factory-installed hitch, as you noted. Factory hitches are built into the truck's frame in such a way that it is really not possible to remove them. They are integrated into the truck's construction and removing one, if it were possible, could affect the new vehicle's warranty. My contact at Curt said this is a step he would not recommend for a new vehicle like your F-150. You might inquire of your local Ford dealership but I would be surprised if they said removing the factory hitch was allowed. You will be better off putting up with the dual receivers by using Curt hitch # C26HR.
