Is the Curt Q24 or Curt A25 Easier to Remove on Ford Super Duty
Question:
I am interested in a 24K+ lbs hitch for a 2018 Ford F-450 Super Duty. I want a two piece hitch so I can more easily remove the hitch from my truck without having to use a chain hoist. I am looking at the Curt Q25 and the Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches for the 2018 Ford F-450 Super Duty with the OEM Prep Pkg. I looked at a Companion brand hitch installed on a truck and I would have to climb into the bed of the truck to pull the lever to disconnect my trailer which I dont want to do. I have a two-part question regarding the two Curt hitches I referenced above: 1. Does the head on both of these easily come off? In other words, can I pull a couple pins and the head come off easily or do they have to be unbolted? It appears that the Q25 may have pins to pull to remove the head but that does not appear to be the case for the A25. I cant tell from the pictures on the A25. 2. For the hitch models that have an easily separated head and base, how much does each piece head and base weigh? Thank you in advance...

The Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ford Super Duty Towing Prep Package part # C16545-16017 and the Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ford Towing Prep Package part # C16036 for your 2018 Ford F-450 both have an easily removable head.
In regards to weight, the Q24 base weighs around 50 lbs and the Q24 head weighs around 110 lbs. The A25 base also weighs around 50 lbs as it is the same as the Q24 but the A25 head is bit lighter at 90 lbs. Therefore, the Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ford Towing Prep Package part # C16036 will be easier to remove. It also has the updated head with more secure locking jaws and one pin removal as mentioned above.
