Is the Thule Camber 2 a Good Fit for the 2016 Nissan Rogue
Question:
Hi, Ive read your reviews and recommendation of the Thule Camber 2 part # TH9058 as the best option for a 2016 Rogue. Does this rack provide enough clearance to be able to use the back camera when the bikes are not installed? Moreover, can the rack be uninstalled easily or is it meant to stay on? Finally, is this rack also one of your top recommendations for a 2019 Rogue or are there any changes in the model/year I should be aware of? I have one more year on my lease, and would likely trade for a 2020 Rogue when the time comes, so Id like to purchase a hitch and a rack that I could eventually transfer. Thanks for your advice! Best,

The Thule Camber 2 Bike Rack part # TH9058 is an excellent option for your 2016 Nissan Rogue. It is cost effective, easy to use, and has a lifetime warranty. It will however interfere with the view for your backup camera but this is more or less unavoidable with any rack due to the position of the camera on the vehicle in regards to the position of the trailer hitch receiver. However, the bike rack only weighs around 28 lbs and it can be removed with a single bolt so taking it off the vehicle while not in use is very easy.
If you were to leave the bike rack on the vehicle while not in use then you need to be aware of the added length in addition to the potential for theft. The arms can be folded downward to reduce the overall length of the vehicle with the bike rack attached but you will need to purchase a locking hitch pin, part # THSTL2 for theft deterrence.
There is plenty of bumper clearance with the Roadway on your Rouge and you don't have to remove the bike rack to open the hatch which is why this combo is a perfect fit for you. I also don't see any issues with transferring this bike rack to a new Rouge in the future. The only thing you need to be careful of is if you have any bikes with an alternative frame or deep drop tube in which case you would also need to use the SportRack Bike Frame Adapter Bar part # SR0500.
I have attached a review video of the Roadway on a 2016 Nissan Rogue for you as well.
