Tire Chains Recommendation for 2018 Jeep Cherokee Limited 2wd Tire Size 225/60R17
Question:
My 2018 Jeep Cherokee Limited Front Wheel Drive has original 225 60R17 tires. The owners manual states chains are not allowed, but I remember the salesman said we could use cables. I cant find anything about this in the owners manual. Is there a solution for this vehicle?

When it comes to whether or not a vehicle can have tire chains/cables installed the vehicle manufacturer is the final authority. What you need to do is speak to the salesman you talked to again and get them to put in writing or in some other way guarantee that you are okay to use cables or Class S (low clearance) tire chains. This problem comes up quite a bit and what we find is that the manual says you can't use them, but then if you can get a dealer to okay the use of the chains you're fine.
We don't have cables that fit your tire size but we do have Class S chains like the part # th04115240 which offer the same low clearance. I'd mention these chains and have them check them out to see what they think. These chains specifically install in a matter of seconds so they are really nice and they'll last you a very long time.
