Best 5th Wheel Hitch for 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500 Long Bed Towing 40-Foot Keystone Montana
Question:
Shopping new 5th wheel hitches for our 2019 3500 long bed with factory prep. Our Montana is 40-footer. This is going to be our third and last 5th wheel trailer and towing pickup so we're doing it all right from the get-go. Want the best USA-made hitch you sell.

The best quality high-capacity 5th wheel hitch for your Silverado 3500 and your 40-foot Montana is the B&W Companion model # BWRVK3705. This 25K hitch is designed, fabricated and assembled in B&W's Kansas facility and it has the capacity and build quality you'll want for your last and best towing setup.
The Companion features a rail-free design that drops right into your factory puck setup and it is built to function flawlessly and to last. Key features include beefy 1-inch-thick hitch jaws that grip your king pin like a vise, polyurethane bushings to absorb road shocks, both front-to-back and height adjustability and a fully-articulating head assembly for easy hitching, even on surfaces that are not level. Add the limited lifetime warranty and B&W's outstanding customer support and you have one of the finest such hitches available. Check out the linked video to see it.
Most of the Montana 5th wheels in the 40-foot length range have a GVWR of about 17K so the Companion will not only easily handle any of these trailers but it will coast along with lots of extra capacity (safety margin) which will allow it to work right every time and to last.
If you're not happy with your OEM mirrors you might consider a set of custom extendable towing mirrors like the K-Source # KS62147-48G which have both power adjust and heat features. We also offer versions with additional functions which you can use so long as your Silverado already has these on the stock mirrors. For example, part # KS62135-36G is a set of mirrors with power and heat that also include LED turn signals. Both use your factory mounts and factory wiring. Please note these mirrors do not fit the Duramax diesel models.
Long trailers like your Montana are always easier to handle when you can actually see what's going on around you. You might consider an observation camera system if you do not already have one. For large trailers like yours I strongly recommend a multi-camera system such as the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision, item # FOS43TASF.
