The hitch I recommend for your 2018 Acura MDX is the etrailer hitch part # e98840 because it is a 2 inch hitch size with plenty of capacity, has a hidden crosstube so it will be less visible, and because it has a cool looking black matte finish. For trailer wiring I recommend the T-One kit part # 118628 because it does not require any splicing to install and it has our most reliable converter box. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well.

Since you wanted to do some towing, and you'll also need a ball mount and hitch balls, you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
