How to Choose the Correct Curt MV Weight Distribution System for a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder
Question:
I have a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder 2wd and a 7x12 foot tandem axle enclosed utility trailer. I know I have a 5000 tow capacity with a 500lb tongue weight. I am only looking for a wd system so my Pathfinder will not sag so much in the back when I have the trailer attached. I already have airbags installed on the back of my Pathfinder. I have no issues with swaying. Would this part be the best setup for my trailer?

The Curt MV Weight Distribution System part # C17050 could very well be correct for your utility trailer. However, in order to confirm this we would need to estimate your total tongue weight which is the loaded ready to tow tongue weight of the trailer in addition to the weight of any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. A good rule of thumb is that the tongue weight of the trailer will be around 10-15% of its gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR).
If the above figure is between 500 lbs - 600 lbs then part # C17050 will be correct for you. The next size up would be part # C17051 which is rated for 600 lbs - 800 lbs. It is always best to be overrated than underrated. The only other thing you would need to use either of these systems is a hitch ball, part # C40030 or part # A-90.
I have attached a review video for you.
