Parts Needed to Install a Brake Controller on a 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser
Question:
After spending days of adding wiring harnesses to my cart and removing them, figured asking would be a better idea. I would like to order this Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller for my 2012 FJ Cruiser, 4WD, no existing wiring. Recently installed Curt Class III receiver hitch, 2inch ball and have a Husky Round Bar Weight Distribution Hitch. Ill be towing a 2014 Jayco Flight Swift SLX 186RB. Could you recommend good 4-way and 7-way wiring products that will be easy to install, use and work well together? Thank you very much!

Absolutely! It sounds like you already know what you need but are looking for the easiest to install products that have the best value. For a 4-way, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118405. The installation process for this harness will be the same as the other options we have for you but we find that Tekonsha brand wiring products tend to be the most reliable which is why I recommend this for you.
For a 4 to 7-way adapter with both 4 and 7-way trailer connection points, I recommend the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers part # ETBC7 which comes with everything else you will need to install the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160 on your 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser.
If you need help with installation I have attached two videos for you which will go over everything you need to know.
