Solution for Needing Brake Controller Stoplight Signal on Vehicle without that Circuit Available
Question:
i have had numerous conversations with your experts but alas im at an impass....i have a 1999 ford E450 motorhome i bought it with a built in tekonsha voyager brake controller the previous owner installed he pulled a car i am pulling a car trailer this controller does not work??? i removed it and installed a 90160 controller along with a p3035 harness as per your experts recommendations this harness does nothing except cause my right side marker light to stay on??? so ive decided to hard wire it in with the pigtail that came with the controller BUT in the instructions it says wiring this controllers brake stop wire to the back of the brake pedal may cause permanent damage to the unit on some fords so im at an impass as what to do the factory oem plug in my motorhome has 6 wires in it and none color match the p3035 harness???

Sorry to hear about your frustrations! A 1999 Ford E-450 shouldn't have a problem having a brake controller tapped into the the stoplight circuit but we do have a solution that can allow you to bypass that and give you a 100 percent safe brake signal. For that you'd want the part # RM-751000. Once installed you'd have a brake pedal switch that powers directly from the vehicle battery which would be the missing link to getting your brake controller installed.
