Brake Controller and Wiring Recommendations for a 2009 Honda Pilot

Question:

Need a brake controller for a 2009 Honda Pilot. The new Pilot has factroy brake controller connection. I think the connection is the same as the Ridgeline. Can you confirm? Thanks.

Since your 2009 Honda Pilot did come with the brake controller connection port, I would recommend using a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 and make sure that the port is completely wired and functional. You will get constant power at one pin location, and another you will get signal only when the brake pedal is depressed.

If your wiring connection is functional, then yes, the wiring adapter that you will need is the # 3070-P. This will work with the Tekonsha lines of brake controllers like the P2 # 90885, or the P3 # 90195.

Otherwise, you will need to hardwire a brake controller to your vehicle using the Brake Controller 7- & 4-Way Installation Kit, item # ETBC7, and the included hard wire harness that is included with the brake controllers. I have included a couple of videos and helpful articles for your reference.
