Question:

I don't have the tow package on my 2018 Honda Pilot. What wiring do I need to tow a trailer?

If you only plan on towing small trailers with your 2018 Honda Pilot then I recommend the T-One # 118760 which has a 4-Way Flat connector for basic trailer lighting functions. I like the Tekonsha wiring because it is the easiest to install and we have found Tekonsha to have the most reliable wiring out there. To mount this bracket for easy access you need the part # 18144.

For larger trailers that have brakes you also need to install the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 for a fully functioning 7-Way. If you don't already have a brake controller then I highly recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # 331-EBRH-ACCV2 because it has a hidden installation so all you see is the small control knob. This brake controller can be swapped from proportional to time-delayed for the best towing experience depending on your terrain.

If you don't already have a trailer hitch then the etrailer hitch # e98840 is the best option we have for towing plus it is the easiest to install. It is compatible with 18" and smaller spare tires plus it has an attractive and durable black matte finish.

We also have a wide variety of ball mount kits available to complete your towing setup. For your application I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount # BWTS10048B which gives you a 1-7/8", 2", and a 2-5/16" hitch balls. This has a 5" max drop and a 5-1/2" rise for different towing applications and it can store underneath the trailer hitch so it is out of the way. I also recommend using a locking hitch pin like the etrailer.com # e98882 to deter theft of the ball mount.

Attached is a picture with the trailer hitch and a 7-Way/4-Way installed on a Honda Pilot as well as some videos and helpful articles for you to reference.
