Question:

Have a customer with an axle manufactured by Isus Axle Corp. Tag on it says it is a 2000 LB axle and serial #270057. Do you know if these brakes would replace original hydraulic brakes? Customer did not have width and diameter measurements at this time.

The Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-2 should fit your 2,000 lb axle but you need to verify that the 7" brake diameter and 2-7/8" on center bolt mounting pattern is correct before purchasing.

You also need to add 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1 to your trailer to activate the brakes. If you don't already have a 7-Way connector then I recommend the # HS381-9000 which has a junction box for easy installation.

A breakaway kit like the popular Hopkins # 20099 on the trailer and a brake controller like the popular Curt Echo # C51180 are also required for the normal and emergency braking of your trailer.

Attached is a helpful article about adding electric brakes to a trailer for you to check out since you will be changing the brakes from hydraulic to electric.
