Tekonsha Primus IQ Flashes S.H. with No Blue Wire Connected
Question:
The SH is flashing constantly. I disconnected the harness from the GM truck. Ran battery power to the black wire and grounded the white. The Blue and red are disconnected. SH continues to flash. Is it possible the controller is shorted internally?

Yes, if the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160 flashes S.H with only the black power and white ground wire ran then that points to an internal short in the controller. Unfortunately, the controller will need to be replaced as they are not serviceable. If you are the original recipient of the brake controller and you have proof of purchase then you can have it replaced under warranty as it has a lifetime warranty guarantee. If not then you would just need to buy another one or upgrade to the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885.
The P2 does everything the Primus does in addition to having a brighter/easier to read display, improved manual override, works with EOH brakes, and can accommodate up to 4 axles. I have attached a review video for you as well. It will use the same wiring harness you have now so no need to change that out.
