Compatibility of Anti-Rattle Device with Weight Distribution and 2-1/2 Inch to 2 Inch Reducer Sleeve
Question:
Can either the maxxtow anti rattle clamp or the roadster quiet hitch be used when towing a trailer using a weight distribution system? If so, which would work better? My truck has a 2.5inch receiver with a sleeve to reduce it to 2inch and then my trailer hitch fits into the 2inch sleeve. It all has some slop and I would like to tighten it up.

You can use an anti-rattle to reduce the movement and noise in your trailer hitch. The best option is the Blue Ox Hitch Receiver Immobilizer III for 2-1/2" Hitch with 2" Adapter # BX88312 because it is designed for that precise purpose and limits both vertical and horizontal movement.
You can use the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-062 which will help secure the shank in your receiver. This will help with either the vertical or horizontal movement but not both. It will improve the stability and ride in the manner you are seeking.
The 2 inch Roadmaster # RM-061 will not work properly as they are designed for the 2 inch receivers not the 2-1/2 inch receiver with reducer sleeve.
