Should Handle of Reese M5 Hitch Lock Open When Pulled Out
Question:
when I am about to hook up, I go into the truck and the Hitch handle moves and the jaw closes. I have to have someone hold the hitch handle for me to hook up. What do I need to do so that the jaw does not close when I get into my truck?

The release handle of the Reese M5 Series # RP30922 should get pulled out and then pulled towards the front of the hitch slightly and it will unlock and hold itself unlocked. Maybe try pulling the handle out as far as you can and the pull it forward and see if it locks open. For more info on that check the attached review video.
