You are going to need to install the correct 4-Way wiring harness before you can install the 7-Way. You will need the Tow Ready Trailer Wiring Harness, # 118405. This includes the converter to convert the signals used by your vehicle to the correct signals used by the trailer. The vehicle requires this powered converter that has a direct connection to the battery to provide the power for the trailer lights. This is to protect the vehicle wiring.
After it is installed, you can plug in the adapter you have and hardwire the remaining wires. You can follow our FAQ and video for the # ETBC7 kit. You will also need a 40 amp circuit breaker, # PK54540, for the 12 volt power circuit on the 7-Way.
I have included a link to the FAQ and video for the ETBC7 and a link to the installation details for the wiring harness for you.
