Will the Swagman Tajo Wall Mounted Kayak Storage System Accept a Current Design Extreme Kayak
Question:
We have a long kayak 19 ft, made by Current Design, extreme model, sit in ocean kayak. I am not concerned about the weight since ours is fiberglass but the kayak is pretty wide. Will this rack work?

The overall width of the Swagman Tajo Wall Mounted Kayak Storage System, # S65146, is approximately 18-1/2 inches. But this measurement is important if the rack was mounted in such a way that it was holding the kayak right at the middle at its widest point.
You will want to mount the rack to the wall to where the rack is supporting the narrower ends of the kayak. The bottom bar sticks out 11 inches, see picture, so if the kayak is very tall at the ends, it could be awkward to mount it.
I have included a link to the installation details for you. The rack was a weight limit of 100 pounds. Make sure that when installing the rack is attached to studs in the wall and not just to drywall.
