Comparing Draw-Tite and Curt Trailer Hitches on 2018 Ford Transit T250

Question:

I'm looking for a trailer hitch for my 2018 Ford Transit T250. Can you tell me what the difference is between the Draw-Tite and Curt class 3 hitches?

Between the Curt # C13193 trailer hitch and Draw-Tite # 75912 trailer hitch that fit your 2018 Ford Transit T250 the biggest differences are the tongue weight and towing capacities of each hitch.

The Curt hitch is rated for 900 lbs of tongue weight and 6,000 lbs of towing capacity compared to the 750 lbs of tongue weight and 5,000 lbs of towing capacity for the Draw-Tite hitch, which is why I recommend the Curt # C13193 hitch for your '18 T250.

The hitches have a very similar installation and offer similar ground and bumper clearance so the relative strength of the Curt hitch due to its larger capcity is the tie-breaker; please keep in mind you will need to abide by the towing capacity in your T250's owner's manual. I have also added a link to a video install of this hitch for you to take a look at.

For wiring which will give you a 4-way connector and allow you to power your trailer's lights you need Wiring Harness # C56327. It is also recommended you use Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors # 11755 to help prevent any type of corrosion in your connector, which will increase its durability and extend its lifespan.

I also recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which is for 2” hitches and may fulfill your towing needs in one tidy package; two ball mounts - one with a 3/4” rise or 2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise or 4” drop - a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip.

You can use the link to the help article on ball mounts I've added to determine if this kit will give you the correct amount of drop or rise. I've also attached a link to our pages with each of our ball mounts for you to check out.
