Electrical Connection from Motor Home to a Jeep Wrangler for Tail Lights when Flat Towing
Question:
Hello, My motorhome has the tail and brake light combined in one wire for each side and my Jeep Wrangler has seperate wire for each light How do I solve the problem so the lights work when being towed and also when independent. I have installed the diodes and wiring but do not know how to make it work. Thank You

If you already have the diodes installed, all you have to do is it connect the motor home to the Jeep Wrangler. The diode kit probably came with a 4-Way flat trailer connector that should be at the front of the vehicle. In a perfect world, the motor home would have a 4-Way flat receptacle. If that is the case, just plug then into each other.
If the motor home or the diode kit had a different type of connector, you will need an adapter or you may have to hardwire in the correct connector depending on what is on each vehicle.
I have included a link to a video showing a typical diode installation, an FAQ article on wiring a a vehicle with separate tail light wiring like yours, and a link to an FAQ article on wiring up the motor home if it does not have any kind of trailer connector.
