The Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R16 Slider # C16521 referenced in your question features a non-binding slider that will require manual operation before making a tight turn. This is not an automatic slider.

If you would like the convenience of not having to get out of the cab to operate the slider every time you make a tight turn, I recommend taking a look at the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550034 instead. This heavy-duty hitch does have an automatic slider that will slide toward the tailgate when you turn and back toward the cab when you straighten out. The Hijacker Autoslide is the only automatic sliding hitch we currently carry. It also features a 3/4 inch thick solid steel locking bar for an excellent connection with the trailer that allows for a really comfortable ride. This particular model has an 18,000 pound towing capacity but we also have the 21K # DM8550035.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this hitch so you can see exactly how it works.

This hitch will mount to industry-standard, above-bed base rails. If you don't already have these in your F-150 I recommend the Demco Above-Bed Base Rail and Installation Kit # DM8552004-71. Along with the needed base rails this kit includes custom mounting brackets that will use existing holes in the truck's frame to eliminate the need to drill into it.

I have attached the written installation instructions that you can also take a look at.
