Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for 2017 Ford Explorer

Question:

Can Saris bones bike rack be used on a 2017 Ford XLT? I thought it might work if I buy a hatch hugger but I wasnt sure. Thanks!

We have great options for trunk mounted bike racks that do fit your 2017 Ford Explorer but the Saris Bones does not fit so we can't recommend it. Instead check out the Yakima Fullback part # Y02634. This rack is loaded with a ton of great features and still costs less than most. It has cushioned anti-sway cradles, a wide mounting pad to protect the finish of the paint and has adjustable arms too. It also includes locks to secure your rack and your bikes. If you plan on carrying any women's or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Kuat Bike Frame Adapter Bar # UB01 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
