What Gauge Wire Should be Used for 12 Volt Accessory Circuit of 7-Way

Question:

Hi, I am connecting auxiliary pod lights on the rear of my 2015 Cherokee and for power, I intend to run two wires in your 7-pin trailer connector one for power-the center and one for negative-the ground terminal and then connect your connector to the vehicle. My question is, what gauge wire are the connector terminals and what crimper would I use? Thanks,

You'll want to use 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) for the power and ground circuit of a 7-way accessory circuit. I attached a diagram that shows how 7-ways normally are wired for you to check out as well. The center pin could definitely be used as a power circuit like you need but normally it's the 1:00 position circuit that's used for that and then the ground is in the 7:00 position.
