The correct trailer wiring harness adapter for your 2018 Ram 1500 is the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter part # 3024-P, not the Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter part # 3020-S. If you will be using this wiring harness adapter for a brake controller that does not have a custom wiring harness adapter all you need to do is cut the black plug off of the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter part # 3024-P and attach the one from your brake controller using some butt connectors like part # DW05744-5. The grey end of the above harness is the one that installs on the truck which you can see in the attached video at the 2:45 mark.
