Brake Controller and Wiring for a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Special Edition which didnt come from the factory with hitch or wiring. I have already acquired a hitch and installed it. I was wondering what you could reccommend as far as a wiring solution and also a braking solution for trailer. The trailer I will be towing is 2 axle and has 7-way plug.

We offer exactly what you need to set your Jeep Grand Cherokee up with electric brakes and a 7-way trailer connector. First you will need to install a trailer wiring harness, part # C55369 which plugs into the Jeep and provides a flat four pole wiring harness. Next you will need to upgrade that four pole to the needed 7-way with our Brake Controller Installation Kit with 7-Way Connector, part # ETBC7. That installation kit includes wires that will need to be run up to the front of the Jeep and connected to the battery and the actual brake controller box.

The Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885 is one of our all-time best sellers. It's a proportional controller for safe, predictable braking. It's also pretty simple to install and operate.

I've linked you to some FAQ articles and a video that'll assist you with the installation.
