Will Equalizer of Trailer Suspension Tilt When There's Elevation Change on Trailer
Question:
I have purchased a tandem trailer with 3500 lb axles under it the spring hangers measure 3.25 tall front, center and rear with 7 3/4 equalizer. The springs and axles are new 26 inch springs no load with tires off. When you put trailer on slightest incline the the spring at equalizer will be against the frame. Any ideas Thanks

Expert Reply:
As long as they are level when the trailer is level you are probably fine. The equalizers are designed to pivot and equalize the load of the trailer on the axles when there's an elevation change so what you decribed is very normal.
