Fitting Thule Square Roof Rack System from a 2006 Acura TL to a 2015 Lexus GS 350

Question:

I bought a roof rack to a friend of mine. It was on 2006 acura TL . I have a lexus gs 350 f sport. I was trying to install it , i was having a hard time putting it it on . Om just wondering what is the problem. My friend told me it was a universal fit . What do you recommendetion for me.

Thank you for the picture! It looks like the roof rack your friend was using on their 2006 Acura TL is the Thule square bar system. This consists of the (discontinued) 50" square crossbars THLB50, the (discontinued) Traverse Foot Pack 480, and the Fit Kit # THKIT1544.

Even though a lot of the roof racks look the same, some things can vary depending on the vehicles (like length of crossbar or fit kit). Unfortunately in the case of your 2015 Lexus GS 350 you will need all new parts. Thule lists 53" SquareBars # 712400 and Traverse Foot Pack # TH480R, as well as the Fit Kit # THKIT1689 which is why it isn't fitting on your roof correctly. This roof rack is custom fit for your vehicle and has been test fit by Thule to work.
