Are 15 Year Old Tires Safe to Use or Should They be Replaced
Question:
I have a 145/12c tire , its never been on the ground its never been in sun light , its 15 plus years old looks as new , Is it safe to run ?

The rubber in tires degrades over time, even if they have never seen the light of day; a tire should not be used if it is older than six to ten years (depending on who you ask).
Either way a 15-year-old tire is not safe to use so you should avoid the danger and replace it with a ST145/12 tire, the Kenda # AM10130 (load range D) or Kenda # AM10140 (load range E).
