Trailer Hitch to Tow 5th Wheel Trailer w/1 Long Bed Ram or 1 Short Bed Ram with Gooseneck Hitches
Question:
The goose neck hitch in the 99 is a home made one. It has a channel welded in between the frame, with a ball nut backwelded to that channel. I have a piece of 1/4" smooth plate between the ball and the bed, creating a pinch mount for the plate. The safety chain hooks are welded to the 1/4" plate. Trailer will be a 2008 Keystone Fuzion toy hauler. Also looking at a 2007 Jaycon Recon.

The only part of this that really complicates things is that the 2010 Ram 2500 is a short bed. Otherwise the Demco Recon # DM8550045 would be the ideal solution. Do you happen to know the brand of gooseneck hitch in your 1999 Ram 2500? If it happens to be a B&W gooseneck hitch then you could use the Companion slider # BWRVK3400 and you'd just need to put a B&W gooseneck hitch in the 2010 Ram using # BWGNRK1313.
The short bed truck is going to require a slider hitch in order for you to make tight turns without the trailer hitting the truck cab. If you can tell me the brand gooseneck hitch in the 1999 Ram I can figure out if this is feasible.
