Parts Needed to Tow a Trailer with a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
Question:
I didn't get the tow package on my 2018 GC Laredo. I only need to tow a small utility trailer every now and then. What do I need?

First you need a trailer hitch receiver. I recommend the Draw-Tite, part # 75699, because I like how the crosstube is completely hidden behind teh Jeep's bumper and not showing. The other hitch, Curt # C13182, is much more visible under the bumper. I've attached a couple pictures so you can see the difference. Both install videos are linked as well.
Next up is a ball mount to fit into the receiver. I've linked our selection that fits the Class III, 2 inch receiver as well as an article to help you determine which rise or drop you need. You might check out our ball mount kit, part # 989900, which includes a couple of ball mounts and hitch balls of different sizes but you want to make sure it's right for you first.
Finally, the Jeep needs a wiring harness to power the trailer's lights. You said it's a small utility trailer so I assume it only has a 4-way connector. If you need a 7-way let me know. For a 4-way we have part # 118727. It plugs inline with the Jeep's wiring behind each tail light. I've linked an install video for you.
In addition to the parts I've mentioned I've also linked a few articles on installing a hitch and some general articles on towing that you might find helpful.
