Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Adapter for 2006 Ram 3500 with Valley Stow-A-Ball or Similar Gooseneck Hitch
Question:
Do you have a gooseneck to fifth wheel adapter, 2006 Ram 3500 Cummins , bought truck used, I think factory installed ? Has 3 inch shank with 2 5/16 ball

In 2006 Ram trucks did not come with a factory gooseneck hitch. That would have been a dealer option. Based on your picture it appears to be a Valley Stow-A-Ball hitch or something very similar. What I recommend to tow a 5th wheel trailer is to use the Demco Recon # DM8550045. This hitch attaches to a standard 2-5/16 inch gooseneck ball regardless of brand. It is rated for 21,000 pounds, and since it has an actual 5th wheel hitch head it provides a safer connection than other adapters.
Another option is an adapter that attaches to the 5th wheel trailer king pin such as # CAB-C5G. This adapter also couples to a standard 2-5/16 inch gooseneck ball. The adapter is cushioned for improved ride quality. This type of adapter can put additional stress on the trailer frame though so the Demco Recon would be the best option for you.
