Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Kit Recommendation for FunFinder 189 FDS

Question:

I own a FUNFINDER 189 FDS, GVWR 6080 Lbs. I do not plan on fully load the trailer. Will the 600 lbs/6000 Lbs, Item # EQ37060ET be appropriate? I drive a 2018 GMC Canyon with 2.8L Diesel towing capacity 7500 Lbs Thanks

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

The Equal-i-Zer kit part # EQ37060ET has a tongue weight range of 200 to 600 lbs which could work well for you if your tongue weight was near 400 lbs. For a higher rated kit we have the part # EQ37100ET which has a tongue weight range of 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs. You'll need a thin-walled socket like the part # ALL643216 to install the included hitch ball as well.
