How to Use Yakima Round Crossbars with a Set of Rhino-Rack RTC-Style Roof Rack Tracks

Question:

Conner, I am trying to create an adjustable rack for the roof of my Leer 6.5 foot cap on a 2018 Sierra 1500 crew cab. I have yakima round bars I would like to be able to use. If the quick mount legs do not have a round bar adapter do the track mount legs RLTP have a round bar adapter? Also the RTC14 roof track is 55 inches. Do you have the same track in longer lengths?

Expert Reply:

There are adapters for the Rhino-Rack Quick Mount Legs part # RRRLT600 that will allow you to use square crossbars but not round crossbars. If you can tell me what you are trying to do or what you have/need I would be happy to see if we have any other options for you.

I do have an option for you but Rhino Rack does not make a round crossbar so they are not going to have an adapter that allows their mounting feet to be used with such. However, the Rhino Rack and Yakima tracks are very similar so you can use their mounting feet on each others tracks. In order to use your Yakima Round Crossbars with a set of Rhino-Rack RTC-Style Roof Rack Tracks you will need the Landing Pads part # Y00221 (2) and the Control Towers part # Y8890027 (4). The Rhino-Rack RTC-Style Roof Rack Track has two option that are longer than 55" which is part # RTC16 (63") and part # RTC18 (71").
