How to Activate Trailer Running Light Circuit on 2006 Nissan Frontier

Question:

My 2006 Frontier has 2 blue relays and 2 brown relays in the forward fuse panel/relay box. The blue ones read trailer LH, Trailer RH, and the brown ones look just like the relays that come with the kick-panel harness kit. Is it correct to say I do not need the harness that goes into the passenger side kick panel? I am plugged into the factory 4-flat connection near rear bumper but only getting turn signals and brakes, no tail lights.

There is a relay on your 2006 Nissan Frontier that is either missing (most likely) or not working that controls the running light circuit of the trailer wiring. We see this exact problem pretty frequently on Nissan Frontiers like your 2006 model and it's almost always a missing blue relay. This relay is available in the Curt Relay Kit # C57000.

The relay of the running light circuit on your 2006 Nissan Frontier is in the relay harness behind the passenger floorboard kick panel.

If you check out the install video I attached, the first thing shown is how to access this area.
