Comparing the TruXedo TruXport and Access TonnoSport Tonneau Cover for a 2001 Chevrolet S-10 Xtreme

Question:

1 which looks better 0.5 OR the 1.5 profile if that has any real world difference? 2 which one of the two is easier to latch and unlatch? Thank you for pointing that out in regards to warranty...5 year vs 2 year

The TruXedo TruXport Tonneau Cover part # TX243101 and Access TonnoSport Tonneau Cover part # A22020169 are both confirmed fits for your 2001 Chevrolet S-10 Xtreme. As you mentioned, the major difference is in regards to their profile. The TruXport will sit about 1-1/2" above the bed rail and the TonnoSport will sit about 1/2" above the bed rail. The profile really doesn't have much to do with ease of use but rather aesthetics. However, the TruXport covers the stake pocket holes and the TonnoSport does not so that may be something to keep in mind if you ever plan to use them with a tonneau cover attached.

The TruXport does have a longer warranty, 5 years compared to the 2 years of the TonnoSport.

The looks of the cover are subjective but I prefer the lower profile option as it has a cleaner feel, almost flush. In regards to the latching mechanism, I cannot say that I have operated them on either cover but the TruXport has a spring loaded latch so I can only imagine it would be easier to operate than the TonnoSport. Something else to note is that the TruXport has weather seals on all four sides whereas the TonnoSport only has a front and rear weather seals.
