With a hitch installed like the Curt part # C13153 you'd have the ability to use a weight distribution system like you are interested in but you need to determine the weight of your trailer when loaded and make sure it's also under the towing capacity of your vehicle to be certain. The overall towing capacity of a vehicle is the lowest rated component in the setup. The Curt hitch I mentioned would easily be able to tow a 5,000 lb trailer if needed but you need to make sure you are under that for your vehicle's capacity. It may have a second higher capacity for when you use a WD system, but that would be specified in the owners manual.
We have the Reese Strait-Line system part # RP66082 which has a tongue weight range of 200-600 lbs which would work well and it also features the best sway control system on the market that works to fight sway before it starts. For a 2 inch ball you'd then want the part # A-90.
