Do Firestone Airbags F2550 Need to Be Deflated Before Decoupling 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
I am looking at getting airbags for my 2000 F-250. I hauled a 10K 5th wheel camper and want a little more support. I was just wondering if I would be able to unhook the camper with the bags inflated or if I would have to deflate the bags and reinflate them when I hook up again.

When you tow your 5th wheel trailer with your 2000 F-250 that has a set of air bags like Firestone # F2550 you will not need to do anything special when you're decoupling the trailer from the truck.
The main thing to do when coupling and uncoupling the trailer is to have both on level ground and in a straight line. This will put less tension on the king pin/jaw connection and ease both processes.
It is possible that in certain specific circumstances inflating or deflating one or both bags might help level the truck/trailer but in general the presence of air bags does not affect the process.
