7-Way Trailer Wiring Connector for Bed of 2016 GMC Sierra 3500

Question:

Hi Jameson. I think my question was confusing. I’m not talking about the connector installed at the bumper. The Chevy has an option to just run a wire bundle to the back of the truck. It’s just coiled up under the truck and doesn’t have a connector on it. It is an option you can purchase if you want to install another connector in the bed of the truck. I’d like to install a connector in the bed and wire it up for my 5th wheel.

Sounds you are referring to 7-way wiring ran to the very rear of the truck near the bumper. So what you would need to install a 7-way in the bed of the truck is the 5th wheel 7-way wiring kit part # 50-97-410. This plugs inline to that connector and gives you a harness and 7-way that will reach up to the wheel well. I attached an install video for this kit on a 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 just like yours as well.

I see what you mean now. You'd just need a 7-way socket to plug into the wiring you have to mount to the inner wheel well of the truck. For that you'd want the part # PK11893.
